Why I Created the Heart Answers® Meditation Method
Heart Answers® Meditation helps you hear the answers from within
For a long time, I was looking everywhere for a purpose.
I wanted to know what I was supposed to do with my life. I wanted to find the career that would make me happy, understand what I was here for and somehow discover the path that would finally make everything fall into place. Like so many of us, I looked for the answers outside of myself.
Until I started meditating. And eventually, during a 10-day silent meditation retreat, I experienced something that completely changed the way I looked at Life Purpose: I realized that the answers I had been looking for outside of myself were in my own heart.
That realization became the beginning of what would eventually become Heart Answers®, the meditation method I developed to help you become still, reconnect with your heart and create space for the answers that are already within you. But to explain why I created it, I have to go back a little further.
I Spent Years Trying to Find My Life Purpose
I tried thinking my way into my purpose
When I was finishing high school and trying to decide what to study and what career to pursue, I had absolutely no clue. So I chose something that seemed sensible. Business studies. Years later, I had built a successful career in marketing. On paper, there was nothing terribly wrong with my life. And yet, something inside of me knew that this wasn't it.
I wanted to feel alive. I wanted to wake up and feel excited about my life. I wanted work that meant something to me, a life that felt like mine and the feeling I remembered from childhood that life was somehow much bigger and more magical than the version of adulthood I had ended up in.
So I searched. I read spiritual books. I explored personal development. I travelled. I journaled. I learned about myself. And meditation eventually became one of the most important parts of that journey.
What I didn't know at the time was that I wasn't only searching for a new career. I was searching for my way back to myself.
The Meditation Retreat That Changed How I Saw Life Purpose
Eventually, my meditation practice led me to a 10-day silent meditation retreat. Ten days without my phone. Without books. Without talking. Without constantly reaching for something outside of myself.
And underneath all of that noise, I discovered something incredibly simple: Life was love.
For the first time, I deeply experienced what I would later call my Inner Purpose: the part of our Life Purpose that has nothing to do with our career, achievements or what we produce in the world. It is our connection with the present moment, with our heart, with self-compassion, aliveness, joy and the peace underneath everything happening on the outside.
I had spent so much time asking myself what I needed to do in order to finally feel fulfilled. And suddenly, I was experiencing another dimension entirely: Being.
I Realized We Don't Have to Think Our Way Into Our Life Purpose
Our modern world is so focused on Doing. We are always striving, achieving, planning and becoming. We are constantly thinking about the next thing we need to accomplish, the next version of ourselves we need to become or the future in which we will finally feel the way we want to feel. There is so little emphasis on simply Being: on love, authentic connection, creativity, playfulness, nature and experiencing our lives with the kind of childlike wonder that once came so naturally to us.
We approach Life Purpose in exactly the same way. What should I do? Which career should I choose? And then we think and analyse and research and make pros and cons lists, hoping that if we just think hard enough, eventually the perfect answer will appear.
But over the course of my own journey, I began to notice something: my deepest answers rarely appeared when I was desperately trying to think my way towards them. They appeared when I became still. They appeared during meditation and journaling, when the mind became quieter after some time and I could finally hear something underneath all the noise.
From my experience, and based on everything I have explored through meditation, coaching and the spiritual teachings that have influenced me, there seem to be several ways that can help us get there. However, whenever my heart spoke to me, it usually took the shape of the same simple process: I became still. I let my mind quiet down. And I truly listened. This usually happened for me during meditation and also in journaling, when the mind switched off after some time. This is exactly why I began working with both meditation and journaling, and this is exactly why and how I developed Heart Answers® Meditation.
The Heart-Version of Myself Changed Everything
This is what life feels like to me after asking my heart for my life purpose
There was another piece that became incredibly important in this process. What really, really helped me was connecting with the version of who I truly am: the heart-version of myself. The soul version. The higher self or simply my most alive self — however you want to call it.
I started noticing that there was a difference between asking myself a question while I was anxious, overthinking and afraid and asking the same question after reconnecting with love, gratitude, openness and aliveness. Heart Answers® Meditation does exactly that: it helps you reconnect with who you truly are.
And in this state of love and gratitude and aliveness, you naturally begin to hear different answers because you are no longer asking them only from the version of yourself that is scared, conditioned or trying desperately to make the “right” decision. You are asking from the version of yourself who feels fully alive. The dream-life state. The I-am-finally-living-my-life-purpose-state. Your magic.
This became fundamental to the method I was developing. I didn't want to create another technique that asked you to intellectually solve your life or gave you another external source to depend on. I wanted to create a way for you to remember yourself first.
Why I Believe Your Heart Holds Answers Your Mind Cannot Give You
I want to be clear about something: I don't believe the mind is bad. Our minds are incredible. We need them to analyse information, make plans, solve problems, assess risks and eventually turn the things our hearts want into reality. But the mind can also keep us inside the boundaries of what it already knows. It works with our past, with what we have learned, with what feels safe and familiar and with the expectations and beliefs we have accumulated throughout our lives.
Your heart can show you what your mind has not yet imagined.
This is why my approach has increasingly become heart first, mind second. I want the heart to have space to dream before the mind tells it why the dream is impossible. I want you to be able to ask What do I really want? before immediately asking But how would that work? Once you have listened inwardly and discovered what you genuinely want, you can invite your beautiful, intelligent mind back into the conversation and let it help you make plans, consider practical realities and decide how you might actually move towards it.
How the Heart Answers® Meditation Method Was Born
Heart Answers® was born in a silent Vipassana meditation retreat
As I continued exploring this in my own meditation practice, I began to recognize a pattern in the moments when I felt most connected to myself and my answers. That pattern eventually became the Heart Answers® 3-Step Method, a combination of meditation, visualization, subconscious imagery and intuitive inner guidance.
The first step is remembering. I guide you back into memories in which you experienced aliveness, love, gratitude or another heart-opening emotion. Instead of simply remembering what happened intellectually, you step back into those moments through your five senses and remember how they felt in your whole body.
From there, you breathe and visualize the feeling of Inner Purpose into your whole body. You imagine that these memories are a warm glowing light in your heart and that they spread into your whole body until you begin to remember again what it means to be who you really are.
Only then do we ask for answers. From that openhearted state, I guide you on a visual journey into a magical place such as a forest, mountain or garden. This is where your subconscious can speak and where, once you rest in that space, I begin to ask questions. Then you wait, you don't force. You let your heart come up with images, words, emotions, knowing or feelings. You let it speak. And you finally, finally listen.
Heart Answers® Is Ultimately About Remembering Who You Are
The more I developed the method, the more I realized that Heart Answers® was connected to a much bigger idea running through everything I teach: you don't need to become someone else. Life Purpose, to me, isn't about constructing the perfect new version of yourself. It is about remembering something that has always been there.
Once upon a time, you knew exactly who you were. You knew what lit you up and what made your heart sparkle. But then life happened: expectations, productivity culture, the pressure to “be realistic.” And somewhere along the way, the magic slowly faded.
The version of you who looked at the world with childlike wonder, dreamed without immediately asking whether those dreams were realistic and experienced the full joy of a moment without constantly rushing towards the next one didn't disappear. She became quieter underneath everything you learned you were supposed to be.
This is why I call my Life Purpose journey The Land of Remembering. I don't believe you need to create your Life Purpose from nothing. I believe there are clues to it already within you: in what makes you feel alive, in what you love, in your natural gifts, in the things you care deeply about and in the dreams you might have dismissed as unrealistic a long time ago. Heart Answers® became one of the ways I help you return there, not backwards to who you literally were as a child, but back to that openness and aliveness with everything you know now.
From Heart Answers® to the Land of Remembering
Eventually, all of these pieces came together into my larger understanding of Life Purpose. I see Life Purpose as having two dimensions: Inner Purpose and Outer Purpose. Inner Purpose is Being. It is the foundation, the internal state from which everything else flows: presence, heart connection, openness, self-compassion and joy. Outer Purpose is Doing. It is the unique expression of who you are through your values, passions, talents, contribution, work and the life you create.
And I believe Being comes before Doing.
Before we ask what your dream career should be, I want you to reconnect with who you are. Before we build the plan, I want you to listen. Before we decide where you are going, I want you to remember what makes you feel alive.
This became the foundation of The Land of Remembering, my Life Purpose & Dream Career journey, and Heart Answers® now runs throughout it. We use the meditation method again and again as we explore your Inner Purpose and later your values, passions, talents, contribution and Life Purpose.
Why I Created Heart Answers®
Ultimately, I created Heart Answers® because I know what it feels like to search everywhere for an answer. I know what it feels like to have a life that makes sense on paper and still wonder whether there is something more, to think and analyse and try desperately to make the “right” decision and to search outside yourself for somebody or something that can finally tell you where to go. And I also know what happened when I became still enough to listen.
Heart Answers® grew from that experience. It isn't about never using your mind again, receiving a magical answer to every question the moment you close your eyes or giving your power away to another external method that claims to know what is right for you. In fact, it is the opposite. It is about coming home to yourself.
Because no external source will magically tell you your Life Purpose. No career test, no career coach, no ChatGPT summary, no astrology reading, not even your friends. They can give you clues. But your true Life Purpose can come only from within you. And it is not something you need to create. It has always been there. All you have to do is become still enough to hear it.
Experience Heart Answers® Meditation for Yourself
